The next iteration of RW is about connecting the entire year of offerings and keeping the conversation going with your customers. To that end we’ve got a few important pieces of information.
One Restaurant Week – FEB
The classic ten days over breakfast, lunch, and dinner to celebrate, discover, and treat your taste buds – Feb. 16-25.
3x Theme Weeks – APRIL, JULY & SEPT
Returning this year are three themed weeks: Cheese (April 20-27) Burgers (July 20-27) and Drinks (Sept 21-28). Each themed week follows the same pattern as a Restaurant Week but a little less formal and runs Saturday-Saturday. Participants are listed but provided menus will be posted on social media rather than on the website.
The Fee Is Back
Themed weeks are free, but there will be a $150 fee for the full Restaurant Weeks. It is $100 for market stands.
We will require interesting and accurate participation
Based on our post-event surveys, we are confident in requiring a minimum level of effort from every registered location.
A Draw
Each participating location is required to offer at least one Draw. Draws are selected during the registration process and include: A Fixed Price Menu, a Special Menu, an Exclusive Item, a Special Event, or a Collaboration. You don’t need to know the details yet, but that you will offer it. You can do as many as you can handle.
A Menu
The absolute most common negative feedback we had was missing menus on the website. The second most common, was incorrect information about hours or offerings. If your menu is not submitted by the deadline, your entry will be removed from the site until it is received. If you’re information has changed, you need to let us know.
Facebook Event
53% of people found out about RW through one of your posts. Every participant is required to add the RW base event to their Facebook calendar before we add you to the site. Don’t worry, it’s easier than you think, and we will be glad to help you make it happen.
We will continue the StrEAT Team
We continue to tinker with our StrEAT Team and were very happy with the new gift cards this past year, as well as the large number of new-to-us team members!
Who Can Participate?
If you serve food and are located in York City, you can participate.
Who are we again?
It’s us, Working Progress. You may remember us from such hits as “Restaurant Week 2021” and “Restaurant Week 2022”, or “Those two that yelled at us about menus being correct.” As always, Working Progress is Matthew Davis (the logistical, idea, and graphical side of CrocodileDog Marketing) and Kate Harmon (the third mind behind What The Food Trucks and the one that keeps most people from hating Matthew).
What’s next?
Here’s the general outline of how the next two months will happen:
· You read to the end of this email – Today hopefully
· Registration will open - Today
· You sign up – Today, but before January 22th for best visibility
· Press Release – mid-January
· Restaurants added to website – mid-January
· Menus due – Jan. 31
· Posters, Rack Cards, Table Tents – mid-January
· Preview/Promotional/Pictures – Early February
· Menus live on site – Feb. 1
· Event Starts – Feb. 16
That’s about it for now
There is still a lot of information and nitty gritty in the attached document. Make sure you look at that. Some parts will find there way into the registration survey as reminders.
